In 2007  specialised paper was applied to protect the paintings.

This summer FOSMA asked Karen Dunbar from Scottish Wall Paintings Conservators.

The paper should remain until any building work on the Hall is completed.

Having obtained the necessary permissions she worked on one small test area of  the Creation panel.

The face of the child revealed by her work is now the image on the lapel badges made for us by Peacock Visual Arts.

We now also have an estimate for removal of the paper from all of the paintings, which be the first step towards making them visible to the public again.
